The Columbia Valley is far and away the largest wine-growing region in Washington State, spanning nearly 11 million acres. With roughly 60,000 acres under vine and a dozen sub-AVAs, Columbia Valley accounts for 99% of the state’s wine grape production. The area benefits from low rainfall, intense sunlight and unique geological features that result in well-ripened, concentrated grapes with refreshing acidity.
