The grapes for this wine were entirely selected from the Red Willow Vineyard, one of the most renowned red grape vineyards in Washington State. Situated in the remote northwest corner of the Yakima Valley region, Red Willow sits in the shadow of the towering 12,000-foot Mount Adams peak, with no other vineyards within 20 miles. At an elevation of 1,300 feet, Red Willow Vineyard has a uniquely complex soil series and steep hillsides. In 2008, harvest in Yakima Valley was delayed a few weeks due to a cooler-than-usual growing season. The extra time on the vine proved to be well worth it and has allowed our grapes to ripen evenly and mature steadily, resulting in complex wines.
Made from grapes grown on the outstanding Red Willow Vineyard, this Cabernet Sauvignon is deep and concentrated. Notes of white pepper, spice and a light hint of balsamic captivate as flavors of dark cherry and blackberry dance on the palate. Enjoy this wine with red meats cooked over an open fire pit fueled by oak, mesquite or hickory oak.
