Winemaking Notes

In 2012, we selected all grapes for this Syrah from a few blocks on the Oasis Vineyard. The Oasis Vineyard is west of Benton City and has an ideal aspect that faces the Yakima River, allowing for cool breezes and optimal sun exposure. As a whole, the Yakima Valley had an outstanding vintage, with long, sunny days and cool nights that fostered steady ripening. This has translated nicely to wines of incredible depth, structure and intensity, with well-balanced natural acidity.

Tasting Notes

Our Yakima Valley Syrah makes a statement right away with intense aromas of bacon fat, clove and chocolate that pop up from the oak. The palate is savory and fruit-driven with flavors of boysenberry, dark plum and spice. A plush mouthfeel and firm acidity lead the way to a finish that lusciously lingers on and on. Enjoy with meals savory and hearty such as barbecue pork, lamb gyros or eggplant lasagna.
